"Old Cellar of Luzhou" — The Birthplace of Strong-Aroma Baijiu
Founded in 1573, Luzhou Laojiao is the oldest continually operating baijiu distillery in China. Its ancient mud-pit cellars — some over 400 years old — are a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and the source of the world's distinguished strong-aroma baijiu.
Brand Story
Luzhou Laojiao (泸州老窖) has been producing baijiu continuously since the Ming Dynasty. The distillery's original mud-pit fermentation cellars, dating to 1573, are still in active use today — and recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The strong-aroma (nong xiang) style was effectively codified here. The characteristic fragrant, smooth, and warming profile has made Luzhou Laojiao the reference point for baijiu educators, enthusiasts, and trade buyers worldwide.
